The response of Britain’s political and military leaders to a largely working-class struggle for civil rights and an end to sectarianism was murder on the streets of the Bogside.

Bloody Sunday was the price the Bogside paid for Free Derry.

Bloody Sunday was not the first or last attempt by oppressive states to subdue their people.

Bloody Sunday calls to mind Wounded Knee, Amritsar, Sharpeville, Grozny, Gaza, Fallujah...

The Bloody Sunday Justice Campaign has been an epic campaign for truth. We believe their struggle remains a beacon for all those who struggle for justice.

Rise like Lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number -
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you -
Ye are many - they are few.*

Free Derry is an aspiration to a better world where there is no oppression and violence, and where the common will of the people alone holds sway, and justice and law are as one.

Nobody who struggles for justice is a stranger here. And those who die in such struggles will always be honoured in Free Derry.
